From our booking to our tour guides and opportunities to challenge ourselves on the zip lines, this was such an enjoyable experience
This spectacular, fun and educational zipline eco-adventure through the forest canopy high above Queenstown has been voted one of New Zealand's best.
Take in stunning views of the surrounding lakes and mountains while learning about the local environment and having heaps of fun along the way, as you buckle up and experience an adrenaline rush like no other!
The ziplines are entirely gravity fed, meaning guests don't have to worry about controlling their own speed. During the ride, two tour guides will accompany each and every guest, one guide to connect on the launch platform, and the other guide to disconnect on the landing platform.
These knowledgeable guides will take care of everything technical, meaning you can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride (literally). They will inform you about the surrounding environment on both a local and global scale and offer sustainable education in a receptive and engaging manner. You'll learn how the supplier strives to operate in an environmentally friendly way, and you'll be provided with tips on how you can do your bit too.
About the Moa Tour
The Moa Tour is the perfect starter to your adventure experience in Queenstown.
This tour is a lower impact adventure activity than the Kea Tour, comprising 4 ziplines which start and finish at the top of the Skyline Gondola. You'll start low and slow and gradually build up speed as it gets higher, longer and faster.
This tour is perfect for families, big groups and those who have never ziplined before.
Departure info:
Upon check-in, you'll meet your guides at the 'Ziptrek Guest Services Treehouse', located 100 metres to the left of the Gondola upper terminal. You will then be fitted with a climbing harness and helmet, and ready to rock 'n' roll!
Departure times are 10:40am and 4pm.

We are situated 450m above Queenstown on Bob's Peak, providing some stunning vistas. Our Guest Services Treehouse is located 100 meters to the left of the Skyline Gondola upper terminal, just past the helipad. You can reach us via the Gondola (allow 40-60 minutes from Queenstown & 90 minutes during busy periods such as Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and school holidays.), or walking up the Tiki Trail (allow 60-90 minutes).
Tours run in all weather conditions. Keep in mind you are entering a mixed alpine forest and whilst it does rain or snow, you are provided with some level of shelter through the tree canopy. There is also limited supply of wet weather jackets, hats and gloves, if required.
We are extremely family-friendly and welcome anyone 6 years and over on all of our Ziptrek tours. Youth (6–14yrs) must be accompanied on tour by a parent or guardian.
As it is a few degrees cooler in the forest than in Queenstown, we recommend that you dress with warm layers and for changeable conditions on the day. During the winter months, gloves, hats and warm coats are essential. Closed toe footwear is compulsory on all tours. If you have a camera or small video recording device you may bring it with you.
