Seeing Queenstown through the lens of Lord of the Rings was fascinating, especially with guides who clearly love the films as much as we did. The booking process was quick and simple, and wielding replica swords made for some hilarious photos. Such an incredible way to experience these locations.

You'll discover Isengard, Lothlorien Forest, Amon Hen, and Ithilien with views of Dunharrow and The Misty Mountains.

Along the way, you’ll see some absolutely spectacular natural beauty. The sites of Glenorchy, Paradise, the Dart River Valley and Mt. Aspiring National Park await!

Itinerary
Start your magical journey in Queenstown where you'll begin your journey into Lord of the Rings territory. Every time you step out of the car, you’ll feel like you’ve walked straight onto the set of one of the movies. Take your time and go explore these fantastic places that you’ve seen on screen so many times. If you close your eyes, you can almost see the hobbits walking around next to you!

To make this experience even more special, your guides are on hand the whole time with plenty of interesting stories and secrets from the filming of the movies.

You'll visit Isengard, Lothlorien Forest, Amon Hen and Ithilien, with views of Dunharrow and The Misty Mountains! Take photos and pose as your favourite characters at each spot. In Lothlorien Forest, there's even the opportunity to dress up in Lord of the Ring's costumes!

Between visiting these awesome locations, you'll also see some of the most fantastic natural beauty in New Zealand. This includes an ancient beech forest, braided rivers and glacier-carved valleys. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Travelling along the country’s most scenic highway from Queenstown to the town of Glenorchy, you'll also experience local culture and history. Located on the shores of the huge Lake Wakatipu, Glenorchy is the best spot to find unique flora and fauna. Explore the area and get up close and personal with both animals and birdlife.

And the fantastic scenery doesn’t stop there. You'll also check out Mt Aspiring National Park which is the third biggest national park in New Zealand. It’s full of unforgettable views and has anything from majestic mountains to river valleys. Wow!

This tour was a dream for any ‘Lord of the Rings’ fan! Standing in the actual filming locations like Isengard and Lothlórien felt surreal. Our guide really brought the magic to life with fun stories and insider details. I booked through this site and the process was super smooth—plus, the cashback was a nice little bonus. 5 stars all the way!

Very nice, short tour! The guide was knowledgeable about Middle Earth, both through the movies and the books, and you could tell he enjoyed sharing that knowledge. I only wish I had done the full day combo, where you do this tour and another half-day tour called Trails of Middle Earth, visiting a few other locations on the other side of Queenstown. I'll have to come back and do the second half day tour another time!

It was amazing tour. They introduced nice place of lotr and intersting story behind the film. They prepared some captured photos from movie it was so good to understand where I am. You can enjoy the place cause they will give to you enough time for seeing and takinf photos. Dan the tour guide was really friendly and passionated. He looked really enjoying his job and he considered every single crew in tour. You can make exciting memory with lotr's dress they prepared. They gave us some snacks: cookies, cakes, coffee and tea, thanks for this I wasn't feel hungry. Van was so comfortable I could take a short nap. Moreover they are super kind, if you get some problems they would willingly help you. It was one of the best tour in my life

Had such a fun day on this tour. I am a Lord of the rings fan big time, so I can say that the guide knew his stuff and didn't just wing it. The scenery is also stunning. Pray for a perfect day, and you can't fault it.
