This is a self guided tour providing complete freedom of movement – chose where you'd like to hop off! Your driver will discuss with the whole group and take you around to the places which you would all enjoy. Travelling with us also unlocks a variety of discounts at selected venues (See stop information below)

 

Tastings and dinner are at your own expense. We always recommend pre-booking dinner to avoid disappointment. We would recommend pre booking some tastings too, especially if touring with us on the weekend and if in a larger group. See below for a list of all the stops included on the tour. We have provided their contact information for your convenience. 

 

Where we visit

1. Altitude Brewing

Altitude Brewing´s award winning lakeside tap room looks out to the Remarkables. The ideal spot to plan your next adventure over a beer. 

Opening Hours: Friday and Saturday: 12noon – 10pm. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday: 12noon until 8pm

2a) Mora Wines 

Tastings: $10 for five tastings. The fee is waived with a bottle purchase. Mora can host groups of up to 6 people for tastings.

 

2b) Mora Artisan Kitchen

Dinner on Fridays only. Bookings required. Larger groups are welcome.

Mora Wines and Kitchen by Artisan is one of Queenstown’s premier winery restaurants. Proud to offer an outstanding wine and food experience, located within a beautiful cottage and gardens.  Inside and alfresco dining, kid friendly. 

 

3. The Winery – Arrowtown

Open 6 days (Closed Sunday): 10am – 7pm. Bookings are not required unless there is a large group. 

The world's largest New Zealand wine store. Taste over 80 wines, whiskies, spirits and gin at The Winery Arrowtown. Enjoy one of their cheese Boards or a selection of tapas.

4. Fork & Tap (Arrowtown)

Open Wednesday – Sunday 12 noon – 11pm. Bookings are not essential except for larger groups. 

Enjoy mixing with the locals over a beer and a snack at this rustic country pub with a huge beer garden.. A charming and historic restaurant. They often have live music and a vast selection of craft beers. Recently renovated and a listed heritage building. An Arrowtown fave! 

 

5. Cargo Brewery at Gantley's

Open Monday – Friday: 12noon – 9pm & Saturday – Sunday: 9am – 9pm. Bookings are not required unless there is a large group. 

Open for coffee, beer or wine with Cargo at Gantley's tap room menu and beer garden.

6. Strike Bowl

Open 7 days until 10pm.  Bookings required

The hub of entertainment in Queenstown. This 7 lane tenpin bowling alley is a fun and joyful experience. 

 

7. Canyon Food & Brew Co. 

Open: Monday – Wednesday from 3pm and Thursday – Sunday from 12 noon.   

Overlooking the mighty Shotover River, Canyon Food & Brew handcrafts award-winning beer in their open space micro-brewery.

8. Searchlight Brewery

June 2018 saw Searchlight open its doors to the public and the first pints poured. It now features 18 taps, a beer garden, kitchen and taproom. 

Open Thursdays until 9pm and late Friday/Saturday.

9. Beech Tree Craft Beer

Open daily from 12 noon till late. Bookings are not required unless in a large group. 

Beach Tree is a laid back local with 23 taps pouring the best New Zealand brewers have to offer. If it’s all about the bass, the brews, and the board games. Burgers and wings available.

10. Atlas Beer Cafe

Craft beers served in an unpretentious fashion, combined with amazing tapas and juicy steaks at reasonable prices. Atlas is a local favourite and a great stop for views of the lake. 

Open: Monday – Thursday: 3pm – Late. Friday – Sunday: 12noon – Late. Bookings advised. 

HoHo Special: Free bowl of chips when purchasing two alcoholic beverages (wine or beer)

 

11. Smiths Craft Beer

Open till late. Bookings are not essential except for bigger groups. 

Smiths is a Queenstown staple. Try some of their amazing craft beers and delicious sharing platters.

12. The Winery – Queenstown

At The Winery taste over 60 wines, whiskies and spirits from across New Zealand including boutique wineries that don't have cellar doors. A great place to finish your day!

  • Cancellations received more than 14 days prior to departure are fully refunded. 
  • Cancellation received less than 14 days prior to departure will be charged full price. Upon communication with the booking team, we will endeavour to offer a new date for your Hop on Hop off Wine Tour. 
  • If you cancel within the 14 day period your tickets are non-refundable, if you cancel outside this time frame, you will receive a full refund.

  • Please be at your pick up stop 5 minutes prior to the departure time. Hop on Hop off does not take any responsibility for lateness. 
  • We recommend no more than 6 guests hop off at any given winery – this is to ensure a more intimate and enjoyable experience. 
  • We can pick you up from many stops in Queenstown starting at the Frankton Bus Interchange, One Mile Car Park and along Lake Esplanade with our main bus stop being The Station Information Centre. Just choose your pickup location when you are making your booking.
  • This is a self guided tour – All tastings are the guests responsibility and at the guests expense. Some wineries will waiver the tasting fee when purchasing wine. We recommend booking lunch prior to the day and bringing water with you to stay hydrated. 
  • All tours have a minimum number of 6 guests for the tours to run. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour if this number is not met. A refund or alternative date for the tour will be offered to all guests. 
  • If you would like to book for more than 8 guests please contact us directly. More than 8 people cannot travel together on our tours without prior arrangement due to logistical reasons and the intimate nature of our selected wineries. We do not allow parties to merge together. If more than 8 people are in one group (and we were not notified) you will either
    • a) be asked to leave the bus or
    • b) be driven back at a cost of $200
  • Anyone under the age of 18 is welcome, however – to consume alcohol you MUST be over the legal drinking age. You may be asked to produce a Government issued ID to prove your age. A child's tickets can be purchased for those under 13 years. 
  • The tour operator reserves the right to alter tours and itineraries due seasons or demand. Updates or changes of the services can be made. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights, or other services or because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules, or other similar causes.
  • Our buses are not licensed which means alcohol cannot be consumed whilst on the bus. We follow strict duty of care protocols which may result in the stoppage of a guest's tour when not followed. The removal of the offending passenger in the event of consuming alcohol, intoxication or disrespectful behaviour may occur. A fine will be charged for any event which causes cleaning such as spillage or soiling the bus ($200). 
  • You will be provided with a wristband and a map of the stops/the route on the day with the allocated timetable. Use the wristband to unlock Hop on Hop off specials at selected venues (see the website for further information).
