Milford Sound is a must-see on any South Island itinerary. This remarkable fiord is part of Te Wahipounamu, a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the jewel in the crown of Fiordland National Park.

This combined experience from Queenstown includes a helicopter flight, fiord cruise, and alpine landing, not to mention an abundance of epic views and incredible scenery.

Starting with the helicopter flight from Queenstown, you'll take in the epic scale of the Southern Alps and The Divide along the way. Fly over secluded alpine lakes, sky-high waterfalls, lush pristine rainforest, ancient glaciers and rugged peaks. You'll have unparalleled aerial views of the legendary Milford Sound.

When you land in Milford Sound, you'll join a 2 hour cruise on the fiord to get up close and personal with this natural beauty. So sit back and relax as your cruise makes its way out into Milford Sound past the iconic Mitre Peak.

You'll sail the length of the 16km fiord, out past St Annes Point Lighthouse, with informative commentary from the skipper who will highlight points of interest along the way. This includes the mighty Lady Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. See towering peaks, sheer cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush rainforest. Feel the spray of Fairy Falls and listen to the sound of nature thriving in its habitat.

The cruise will also take you out into the Tasman Sea to enjoy the unique opportunity of approaching the fiord, just as the first sealers did way back in the 18th century. Be sure to keep an eye out for seals basking in the sun, pods of dolphins, or rare Fiordland Crested Penguins that can be found seasonally within the region.

After the cruise, you'll board the helicopter for the return trip to Queenstown. However, the home journey includes another highlight – an alpine landing on a remote mountain peak to take in even more breathtaking views.
